Subject:

Discussion and possible action to approve an Agreement for one year (October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024) between the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Webb County Constable Pct. 1 in the amount of $20,707.50 and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. There will be no financial impact to the general fund, as FLSA pay, and fringe benefits will be paid through State Forfeiture Fund #2181 in the total amount of $4,844.00. [Requested by Guadalupe Gomez, constable Pct. 1; Account #2583-3150-001-413000 and Fund #2181]

Issue: Collaboration between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies is necessary to pursue and dismantle organized crime organizations along Webb County and the state of Texas.

Solution: Accept federal assistance to continue local participation in Join Operations under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces Program.

Result: Disruption of organized crime activity along the Texas border and in Webb County.
