Annual Leave Buy Back Clarification and Order - Collective Bargaining Agreement

Discussion and possible action to authorize and approve payment to the members of the Webb County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association as agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Webb County and the Webb County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association which allows the annual leave buy back, to include those hours accrued and exceeding 20 hours of annual leave after the buy-back, calculated as of October 31 of the fiscal year for which the buy-back is available (FY2022-2023), provided that the member has submitted the Annual Leave Buy-Back Application by October 31, 2023 and any matters incident thereto.

Issue: CBA permits applications for Annual Leave Buy Back to be submitted by a Member no later than Oct 31st.

Solution: The Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Deputy Sheriff's Association Agreement specifically permits the Commissioners Court to resolve these and Court action authorizes payment.

Result: Maintain the Collective Bargaining Agreement that was entered into in good faith with the Deputy Association pursuant to Chapter 174 of the Texas Local Government Code.
