Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit sealed competitive bids for the delivery, installation and startup of a new Climate Control System for the Webb County’s Fairground’s exhibition barn in accordance with the Texas Government Code; Section 2269.101 (Contracts for Facilities: Competitive Bidding) and to further designate the County Engineering Department to prepare the bid specifications for requested HVAC equipment required for this project in accordance with Section 2269.102 (Use of Architect or Engineer) and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Currently the exhibit barn is utilized for different events for vendor point of sales and exhibition purposes. Making the area a high traffic location for community events. The building has poor ventilation and during the hot summer months creating potential health hazard.

Solution: Climate control for the building to maintain the proper temperature and humidity in the air environment inside the building

Result: Provide a safe exhibit barn for public use.
