Discussion and possible action to authorize a Thirty-Seven (37) month storage rental agreement between Webb County and Portabull Storage, LLC., for one (1) ground level refrigerated 40’ container for the Webb County Medical Examiner at a rate not to exceed $825.00 per month effective September 1, 2023, through September 30, 2026, and any other matters incident thereto [Account #1001-3100-001-444500 (General Fund-Medical Examiner-Administration-Equipment Rental)]

Issue: The existing 40’ refrigerated container has had reoccurring issues that have become very costly for the Medical Examiner department, unit is currently out of service. Thermo King warranty representatives have been non-responsive and have in the past refused to provide service/inspection to unit.

Solution: Lease a 40’ refrigerated container which will include a tracking device for company to remotely identify temperature fluctuations and system errors, 24/7 service department to monitor temperatures, and Portabull will take care of all service and maintenance if there are any performance issues.

Result: If approved, replace existing unit with a new leased unit that will eliminate costly repairs, downtime and continue to maintain the storage requirements of the Medical Examiner without interruption.
