Discussion and possible action to continue paying grant-funded personnel under OOG Grant #4373601 (Fund 2737) Border Prosecution Program – HB9 Operation Lone Star, (90) days, until notification about grant continuance award from the Criminal Justice Division by the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office. All personnel costs will be reimbursed with grant funds.

Issue: Current grant funding expires on August 31, 2023. The Border Prosecution Program – HB9 Operation Lone Star has not received notice of award for the new grant. Unless this item is approved, personnel working under this grant will not be paid after August 31, 2023.

Solution: Grant a 90-day payroll extension effective September 1, 2023

Result: The Webb County District Attorney’s Office will continue to employ the grant-funded personnel, and will continue to execute its duties against criminal activity.
