Discussion and possible action to approve an intergovernmental agreement renewal between Webb County and Zapata County for the housing of Webb County inmates at a rate of $40.00 per day per inmate effective January 1, 2015 through September 30, 2015 and authorizing the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #001-2060-6023-04]

Background:

Zapata County agrees to house overflow prisoners incarcerated at the Webb County Jail in accordance with State Jail commission guidelines and within limits of space availability as determined by the Zapata County Sheriff.

Webb County Sheriff's Office recommends continuation of inter-local agreement with Zapata County in order to comply with State Jail commission rules and regulations on Officer to inmate ratios, classification and other matters affecting Webb County Jail population.

Previous Court Action:

Prior Inter-Local agreements with Zapata County have been approved by Commissioners Court.
