Discussion and possible action to rescind lease agreement between OD Security North America and Webb County and award a Finance Contract between Government Capital Corporation (GCC) and Webb County for the acquisition of a 2014 Full Body Security Scanning System for the Webb County Jail for an amount not to exceed $115,282.95 to be paid on a monthly basis at $2,175.15 per month, effective February 1, 2015 and terminating on June 1, 2019 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. Background:

Currently Webb County is leasing the 2014 SOTER Full Body Security Scanner from OD Security. After the lease agreement was approved, OD Security informed Webb County that the wrong terms and conditions were presented and should have been a purchase versus a lease. The Body scanner is an important security tool that prevents the smuggling of narcotics and weapons into our County Jail.

The Sheriff's Office recommends approval of this item in order to reduce any potential liability to the County due to illegal narcotics and weapon smuggling into Webb County Jail.
