Discussion and possible action to approve the submission of a grant application to the Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management for Fiscal Year 2015 Local Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) in the amount estimated at $11,250 for the acquisition of emergency management equipment/supplies and designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official in all matters related to this grant; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant requires a Fifty (50%) match, which will be provided as in-kind match by the Webb County Sheriff's Office Emergency Management Coordinator, volunteers, and other partners.
Background:
The Emergency Management Performance Grants (EMPG) Program provides grant funding to assist local emergency responders in enhancing and sustaining all-hazards emergency management capabilities.
Previous Court Action:
The FY 2014 EMPG grant application was approved for submission last year on January 27, 2014, and the FY 2014 EMPG grant award was approved for acceptance on October 27, 2014.
