Acceptance of Local Emergency Planning Committee Grant from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

Subject:
Discussion and possible action to accept the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Grant in the amount of $92,662.80 awarded by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and authorize an expenditure line item; and designating the County Judge as the County's Chief Executive Officer and authorized representative to act in all matters in connection to this project. Funding will be used for the purchase of equipment needed during Hazardous Materials response operations by the Webb County Fire Department and first responder agencies that provide mutual aid during such events. Equipment to be purchased includes a HazMat mobile trailer, personal protective equipment, gas monitoring equipment, and laptops to be used for Tier II report access. This action will not impact the County General Fund.
