Discussion and possible action to accept a grant contract #58170002607 award for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) from Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for the Program Year 2017 - Contract start date January 1, 2017 to Contract end date December 31, 2017, in the amount of ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED THIRTY SIX THOUSAND TWENTY TWO DOLLARS ($1,136,022.00), and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. This action will not have an impact on the General Fund. Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program Grant budget account #911-4200-3501. Issue: Approve grant contract for the CEAP Program from TDHCA for PY-2017 in the amount of $1,136,022.00).

Solution: The Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) provides direct client services to eligible elderly, disabled and low income residents of Webb County.

Result: The services are intended to assist eligible Webb County residents up to 8 highest remaining calendar months of energy consumption. The CEAP allocation for Contract #58170002607 is for twelve months.

Background:

The Webb County CAA received from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) contract allocation for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) in the amount of $1,136,022.00 for the program year 2017. The funding shall be utilized for utility assistance.
