Discussion and possible action to approve the repairs and modernization of the Webb County Sheriff’s elevator system located at 902 Victoria Street for a proposal totaling $94,150.00 from Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation and further authorizing a discretionary exemption under Texas Local Government Code, Section 262.024 (11) Equipment Repairs, and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by Sheriff Martin Cuellar; Bond Series 2006 - Account #3115-7380-001-470000 (Capital Outlay)]

Issue: The elevator located at the Sheriff’s Administrative Office is not working. Customers that need to access services provided on the 2^nd floor must use the stairs. This non-functioning elevator poses an issue for the handicap and other Citizens that may not be physically capable of using the stairs.

Solution: Authorize the proposed services by Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation.

Result: Reestablish operation of elevator to allow access to 2^nd floor where services are provided by ID & Records, Civil and Warrants, and general administration for the Webb County Sheriff’s Office. Comply with any ADA requirements.
