Temporary hourly rate adjustment

Discussion and possible action to approve a temporary hourly rate adjustment to slot number 9815 Administrative Clerk not to exceed $2.89 per hour retroactive to January 7, 2019. Administrative Clerk will perform Buyer duties during the extended absence of employee (Buyer / Slot #880); employee currently has no accruals providing funding availability during absence of employment. The hourly rate adjustment will be paid from Slot #880 and will not exceed current approved payroll budget.
 
Issue: One of the Buyers will be out for approximately 3 months on approved leave.  Employee has no accruals to expense.  Allowing funding availability for temporary hourly rate adjustment. 
 
Solution: Approve temporary hourly rate adjustment for the Administrative Clerk to perform both duties during the absence of employee out on extended leave.  The temporary hourly rate adjustment will fall within the approved budget and will not exceed what was originally adopted by the Court.
 
Result: Department requisitions requests will be evenly distributed and will help keep the efficiency and effectiveness of the Purchase Order process flowing with minimal interruption, without having to hire a temporary employee.
