Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal requests for qualifications from Architectural firms to provide design plans, prepare construction documents and construction phase services for the Webb County Fair Grounds Project in accordance with the Texas Government Code; Chapter 2254.004 (Contract for Professional Services of Architect, Engineer, or Surveyor). [Requested by Commissioners Court]

Issue: Commissioners Court approved the solicitation for a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the construction & renovation of a new Webb County Fair Grounds. On or before the selection of a CMAR, the Government entity shall select or designate an architect or engineer to prepare the construction documents for the project.

Solution: Approve the solicitation for qualified and competent Architectural firms to compete for CMAR project architect to represent the County independently of Contractor.

Results: Secure qualified proposals and award to the highest qualified firm in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code.
