Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Purchasing Agent to solicit for competitive bids for the Webb County Public Health Facility to be located in Bruni, Texas and in accordance with the Texas Government Code; Section 2269.101 (Contracts for Facilities: Competitive Bidding) and any other matters incident thereto. [TDA 7218028 Health Facilities- Fund #3522-7230-001-470000 Capital Outlay]

Issue: Commissioners Court approved an architectural contract for design and preparation of construction documents.

Solution: Approve the formal solicitation of competitive bids as per Texas State procurement law.

Result: Proceed with advertisement once the architects finalize the specifications and construction documents for bid process.

Background:

This project will provide residents accessibility to the first time public health facility with a proposed area of 3,200 SF to be located in the rural community of Bruni, TX. The facility shall include a parking lot, fencing and sidewalks. The facility shall be operated/facilitated by the Webb County Indigent Healthcare Department and Texas A&M – College Station Colonias Program.

Previous Court Action:

Commissioners Court approved the solicitation for Request for Qualifications for the architectural services for the design of a Public Health Facility located in Bruni, TX on 9/23/2019. On 12/19/2019, Commissioners Court authorized the award of a professional service agreement with Redline Architecture,LLC., highest ranking firm.
