Discussion and possible action to authorize a discretionary exemption under the Texas Local Government Code Section 262.024(a)7 to utilize landfill services with the City of Laredo as a sole source to dispose of residential and non-residential waste for the remainder of the fiscal year ending September 30, 2021 and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The Road and Bridge Department will be utilizing the City of Laredo as a sole source to dispose of residential and non-residential waste. The projected cost for the remaining fiscal year will exceed $50,000.00.

Solution: Approve a discretionary exemption as per State law for sole source use as recommended by the Purchasing Agent.

Result: The Purchasing Agent will proceed with the issuance of a Purchase Order that will cover the services provided by the City of Laredo. Estimated cost for remaining months is $60,800.00.
