Discussion with possible action to authorize the submission of a Non-Competing Continuation Grant Application as developed, written, and submitted by and for the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) in the amount of Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any kind of match; thus, will have no impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: SAMHSA awarded a Multi-year grant to the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program on 09/30/2018 and the funding agency requires the submission of a non-competing continuation application for subsequent years after year 2.

Solution: Authorize the submission of the SAMHSA Adult Drug Court Program Continuation application for Fiscal Year 2022-2023, Year 5.

Result: Webb County Adult Drug Court Program will remain in compliance with SPOC, and with the submission rules and regulations set forth by the funding agency.

Background:

This grant was previously approved and awarded for 5 years.

Previous Court Action:

Commissioners Court approved the submission of a non-competing continuation application Year 4, for the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program on January 25, 2021.
