Subject:

Discussion with possible action to authorize the submission of a grant application as developed, written, and submitted by and for the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program to the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division Specialty Courts Grant Program, FY2024 in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any kind of match; thus, will have no impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the soliciation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: Enhance the capacity of the program’s availability of treatment services by integrating family–based therapy and interventions to qualifying participants that is also extended to their family members to receive family-based interventions and counseling.

Solution: Authorize the submission of the OOG for Specialty Courts Program for fiscal year 2024, year 2.

Result: The Webb County Adult Program will remain in compliance with the submission rules and regulations set forth by the funding agency.

Background:

The submission of the grant was previously approved for Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Application for renewal for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is required by the funding agency.

Previous Court Action:

Commissioners Court approved the submission of the grant application to the Office of the Governor January 24, 2022.
