Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of an application and Resolution of the Texas Department of Transportation (TX-DOT) FY 2023 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program, in the amount of $1,344,000.00, and authorizing the County Judge to act as the County’s Executive Officer and Authorized Representative in all matters pertaining to the County’s participation in the program. There is no financial impact to the General Fund. All required documents were sent for review to the Economic Development and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures.

Issue: Identified sidewalks located in different Colonia areas in Webb County are in need of repair and improvements.

Solution: The Texas Department of Transportation released applications for the 2023 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program for bicyclist and pedestrian infrastructure.

Result: If awarded, the funding will improve safety, access, and mobility for the residents of Webb County of all ages and abilities.
