Discussion and possible action to authorize the release of the 10% retainer payment to Midas Contractors in the amount of $7,270 for the project located at 7523 Kay Bailey Rd., San Carlos II. This project is grant funded and will not impact the County's General Fund. [Account #2529-206000]

Issue: Ten percent of the housing rehabilitation project amount is held in retainer for 30 days from the completion date of each project to ensure that any deficiencies which may arise are addressed by the contractor. Contract amount is $71,400 plus a change order in the amount of $1,300. The 10% retainer amount to be released for this contract is $7,270.

Solution: Commissioner's Court authorizes the release of the retainer funds to the contractor.

Result: The contractor will be paid for services rendered.

Background:

This housing rehabilitation project has been inspected to ensure that the home meets minimum required standards as required by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
