Discussion and possible action to authorize the acceptance of a Mental Health Law Enforcement Service Improvements Project grant (CJD Grant No. 2758701) from the Office of the Governor Criminal Justice Division in the amount of $48,663.63 for training, equipment, and supplies to provide enhanced mental health law enforcement services in the Laredo/Webb County area, and authorizing the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any match.

Background:

This grant funds training, equipment, and supplies to provide enhanced mental health law enforcement services for the Laredo/Webb County community through the Webb County Sheriff's Office Mental Health Unit.

Previous Court Action:

The submission of this grant application was authorized by the Webb County Commissioners' Court on Monday, January 27, 2014.
