Purchase of Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance

Discussion and possible action to purchase One (1) mobile intensive care ambulance that will be utilized to primarily serve the Oilton, Mirando City, Aguilares, and Bruni areas of Eastern Webb County. This purchase is possible with funds provided through a Tax Abatement Agreement between Webb County and Javelina Wind Energy entered on December 13, 2013 (as per Section 9, Subsection a). Purchase is not to exceed $150,000 in funding.

Issue:
To purchase an ambulance for replacement of the Webb County Sheriff’s Ambulance utilized to serve Eastern Webb County. Ambulance currently utilized is eighteen (18) years old and replacement parts are no longer available.
Solution:
Purchase a new mobile intensive care ambulance in an amount not to exceed $150,000.
Result:
Vehicle will be used to enhance emergency medical response in the Quad City area.
