Finalize Purchase of Land for Webb County Fire Station

Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Attorney’s Office to finalize the purchase by Webb County, Texas as buyer of a 6.14 acre tract of land out of a 10.14 acre tract of land, situated in Webb County, Texas, from Simeon Development, LTD., as seller, at fair market value plus related title company closing costs; for future use as a Webb County fire station site. Said tract of land being located out of Survey 1713, Abstract 525, E.B. Ragsdale, original grantee, Survey 737, Abstract 275, Rusk Transportation Co., original grantee, and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents at closing and any other matters incident thereto. [Closed/Executive Session to deliberate the purchase and value of real property pursuant to section 551.072 of the Texas local government code]

Issue: Webb County is finalizing the purchase of land for use as a future fire station site by the Webb County Fire Department in northwest Webb County.

Solution: The purchase of this tract of land will be for used as future Webb County fire station site in by the Webb County Fire Department. The Webb County Commissioner’s Court had previously accepted the donation a 4.00 acre tract of land, located directly adjacent to the 6.14 acre tract of land proposed to be purchased.

Result: Provide the land needed to begin the construction of the much anticipated Webb County Fire Station.
