Discussion and possible action to approve the first (1st) option to extend sublease agreement between Jett Racing and Sales, Inc. and Webb County Sheriff's Office for approximately 1,600 square feet of hangar space and 800 square feet of office space located at the Laredo International Airport, Laredo, Texas effective October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: Current hangar lease expired September 30, 2015.

Solution: Exercise the option to extend provision under Section 1.02 Term.

Result: Continue renting hangar space in a secure area at the Laredo International Airport for the Sheriff's Aviation Operation.

Background:

The hangar sublease consist of 1,600 square feet of hangar space and 800 square feet of office space for a total sublease space of 2,400 square feet. The rent will continue at $900 per month. The Airport Advisory Committee approved the sublease agreement on March 4, 2014 and was subsequently approved by City Council and Commissioners Court.

The Sheriff's Office recommends approval of this sublease agreement for aviation purposes only. Funding for rent expense is budgeted under federal forfeiture fund.

Original hangar lease approved by Commissioners Court on 3/10/14.
