Discussion and possible action to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of a Tri-County Economic Development Coalition which unites key stakeholders for a collaborative approach at improving the local economy; and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents and represent Webb County on all matters incident thereto.

Issue: The three neighboring counties of Jim Hogg, Duval and Webb have been adversely affected by the regional economic impact of the oil & gas industry.

Solution: By uniting their resources and partnering with local agencies, Jim Hogg County, Duval County and Webb County will promote economic development through funding opportunities that become available for activities such as workshops, job fairs and economic forums.

Result: The creation of a Tri-County Economic Development Coalition for the purpose of contributing to the economic sector by uniting key stakeholders that are invested in the development and prosperity of the South Texas region.
