Discussion and possible action to accept a grant award for the Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG) from the Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs (TDHCA) for Program Year 2017, in the amount of ($518,709.00) FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND NINE DOLLARS, and 2017 CSBG Community Action Plan (CAP) and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Grant #920-4200-3501. This action will not have impact on the General Fund.

Issue: Approve funding for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for Program Year 2017 in the amount of $518,709.00.

Solution: The Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG) provides support services to eligible elderly, disabled and low income residents of Webb County.

Result: The support services are intended to assist eligible Webb County residents to transition out of poverty.

Background:

The Webb County Community Action Agency (CAA)- Community Services Block Grant - Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG)
provides support services to eligible elderly, disabled and low income residents of Webb County. The support services are intended to assist eligible Webb County residents to transition out of poverty. The Program Year 2017 CSBG allocation is for twelve (12) month period.
