Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal bids for the purchase of one (1) semi-portable axle scale with wireless connectivity for commercial vehicle weight enforcement to include a transport trailer; the equipment will be used in conjunction with the Mobile Command Center for Judge Jose R. Salinas, Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 in partnership with the Texas Department of Public Safety for traffic enforcement operations on Interstate 35 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: There is a need of purchasing a semi-portable axle scale to ensure the citizens of Webb County that the cargo weights of 18 wheeler transportation are complying with state laws.

Solution: Commissioner's Court approving the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal bids for the purchase of one (1) semi-portable axle scale.

Result: Fewer accidents involving 18 wheeler transports will provide safety to the community and less liability for the transport businesses within Webb County.
