Discussion and possible action to approve, by order, a budget amendment to the District Attorney Hot Check Fee Fund by increasing the expenditure budget by $5,757; said amount is available from Hot Check fees collected pursuant to Chapter 102 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. Issue: There is a need to create an expenditure budget for the Hot Check Fee Fund to defray salaries and expenses of the Prosecutor’s Office.

Solution: Request a budget amendment that defines the line items for the projected expenditures.

Result: The attorney representing the State can utilize the Hot Check fees collected for the official use of his Office.

Background:

Hot Check fees for $5,757 have been collected by the District Attorney's Office pursuant to Chapter 102 Art. 102.007 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. The District Attorney would like to use the fees collected to defray the salaries of his office.
