Acceptance of Award From Meals on Wheels America

Discussion and possible action to approve cash match of $15,000.00 to be combined with Meals on Wheels America award of FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00). The purpose is to maximize the benefit to Webb County's vulnerable population with food and care packages. All required documentation has been submitted for review to the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is complaint with Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: CAA Meals on Wheels is a grant-funded agency. Meals on Wheels identified Webb County Community Action Agency as a possible recipient for additional funding items needed during COVID-19 pandemic.

Solution: The match will allow us to deliver twice the amount of meals to elderly; health compromised and handicapped/disabled residents of Webb County, Texas.

Result: If approved, funding would allow us to provide twice the amount of services to eligible participants of ready meals to the most vulnerable population during COVID-19 pandemic.
