Discussion and possible action authorizing the Purchasing Agent to add Five (5) new cell phone devices including data services for the Webb County Tax Office pursuant to Sections 271.101 and 271.102, Texas Local Government Code, Cooperative Purchasing Program DIR Agreement TSO-3420 at a monthly rate of $39.99 plus surcharges and other related fees per line with AT&T FirstNet Plan and subject to annual budgetary appropriations. Issue: Often the supervisors are never situated in one place. Supervisors are in meetings or walking around directing the traffic line, meeting with customers, supervising all different departments, and we have situations when we need to be reachable at all times. Be able to communicate with Appraisal District, the State, Dealers and other entities. We also make calls and visits to customers to collect NSF checks or Maquinitas. This is not only during working hours but also after hours during the week and including weekends. This also affect when checking security cameras in our office since they are only located in one office.

Solution: Supervisors will be reachable at all times in order to address important issues and have direct communication with these entities at all times including while in meetings or after hours. Having work phones, we will also be able to install our security cameras in the work phones allowing us to view them while in meetings and will also centralize the calls from the employees to report absences and emergencies. It will also avoid the use of personal phones and have better control of the use.

Result: By approving the new cell phone devices, it will allow a more effective and prompt service to customers.
