Discussion and possible action to recommend approval to write off and remove personal property taxes owed by Miracle Candle Company, to Webb County, from the Webb County, Texas tax rolls, all base tax, penalties and interest accrued on Webb County Tax Account #800-13000-750, in the total sum of $123,614.16 (November, 2014 amount) for tax years 2006, 2007, 2008, as per Final Report of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Petition and Order for Debtor, Miracle Candle Company in Cause No. 07-50227-L2-7, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas.

Background:

Miracle Candle Company had previously filed for Ch. 13 (reorganization) U.S. Bankruptcy protection, which was later converted to a Ch. 7 (liquidation) U.S. Bankruptcy action. The pending personal property taxes owed by Miracle Candle Company to Webb County are uncollectable and such claims have been discharged by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. The requested action would be to remove from the Webb County, Texas tax rolls, all base tax, penalties and interest accrued by Miracle Candle Company as per Webb County Tax Account #800-13000-750, in the total sum of 123,614.16 (November, 2014 amount) for tax years 2006, 2007, 2008, as per Final Report of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Petition and Order for Debtor, Miracle Candle Company in Cause No. 07-50227-L2-7
