Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to purchase one (1) Mini Van equipped with wheelchair accessibility for the Veterans Department in an amount not to exceed $40,000.00 in accordance with the Webb County Purchasing Rules and Regulations and to further authorize the Budget Officer to transfer funds from the operational reserve account to the capital outlay account within the general operating fund. [Requested by Commissioners Court, Account #1001-1130-001-470000]

Issue: During the Budget hearings held on September 10, 2018, Commissioners Court authorized the purchase of a new mini van equipped with handicap ramps for the purpose of providing our local veterans with transportation for scheduled appointments related to program. The Court further authorized a budget to not exceed $40,000.00.

Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to secure competitive bids in order to secure best pricing and finalize the purchase.

Result: Replace high mileage unit with a new transportation van and continue providing services to our local Veterans.
