Purchase Grant Funded Portable Radios

Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to purchase Nine (9) Digital Portable Radios from Motorola Solutions in an amount not to exceed $46,659.66; pursuant to Texas Local Government Code; Sections 271.101 and 271.102, Sub-chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Programs, HGAC Contract #RA05-18. This acquisition is grant-funded; and thus, there is no impact on the Webb County budget.

Issue:
Grant funding is allocated for the purchase of portable radios to be utilized for law enforcement operations.
Solution:
Proceed with the purchase of portable radios.
Result:
Enhanced communication tools will be acquired for the safety of deputies and the general public.

The grant award was accepted by the Webb County Commissioners’ Court on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
