Discussion and possible action to authorize the submission of second grant application for Meals on Wheels America in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00). This grant does not require a County Match. All required documentation has been submitted for review to the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is complaint with Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. No impact to the General Fund. [Requested by Community Action Agency; Account #2371-5260-521-441211-010]

Issue: CAA Meals on Wheels is a grant-funded agency. Meals on Wheels America identified Webb County Community Action Agency as a possible recipient for additional funding for items needed during COVID-19 pandemic.

Solution: This grant will allow us to deliver shelf stable ready meals to elderly; health compromised and handicapped/disabled residents of Webb County, Texas.

Result: If approved, funding would allow Meals on Wheels Program to expand home delivery meal services per household to eligible participants of ready meals to the most vulnerable population during COVID-19 pandemic.
