Discussion and possible action to create a special revenue fund for the District Attorney State Forfeiture Chapter 59 Victim Services Program as per Art. 59.06(t); and any other matters incident thereto.
Issue:
In 2019 the Texas Legislature added section "t" to Art. 59.06 CCP, Disposition of Forfeited Property. Art. 59.06(t) provides that the gross amount forfeited shall be used to provide direct victim services.
Solution:
Create special revenue fund to account and segregate resources related to Chapter 59 victim services.
Result:
Special revenue fund to track and report any State forfeiture assets and expenses associated.
