Discussion and possible to approve an addendum to Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) approved by the Webb County Commissioners Court on June 13, 2022, between the State of Texas LESO Program and Webb County; and authorizing the County Judge to sign and execute all relevant documents, and any other matters incident thereto. There will be no impact to the County General Fund. [Requested by Martin Cuellar, Webb County Sheriff]

Issue: A new Executive Order was issued earlier this year that impacts some of the policies and procedures of the Texas LESO Program in which Webb County participates.

Solution: Approval of addendum to comply with new federal requirements.

Result: The Webb County Sheriff’s Office will continue to be able to participate in the LESO Program.

Previous Court Action: Agreement is approved on an annual basis. Annual agreement was approved this year by the court on 6/13/2022.

Background: An Executive Order (EO) was issued earlier this year impacting some of the policies and procedures of the LESO Program. Due to these changes/updates, LESO has implemented an Addendum to the State Plan of Operation.
