Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of two hundred and twenty-seven (227) Glocks Blue Label 45 MOS 9mm weapons from Primary Arms, LLC., in an amount not to exceed $38,244.87 and to further authorize the trade in of two hundred fifteen (215) Sig Sauer P320 9mm weapons with magazines to receive a credit of $68,100.00 off total purchase price and to further authorize the Purchasing Agent and County Auditor to adjust the inventory reports accordingly after transaction is completed and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: Due to recent reports of accidental misfires without trigger being touched with the Sig Sauer P320 weapons, the Sheriff’s Office is recommending to trade in the existing inventory and replace with Glocks.

Solution: Low bidder provided a credit of $68,100.00 for the 215 county owned weapons. Adjusting the original purchase price from $106,344.87 to $38,244.87. Recommendation is to proceed with purchase after Court approval.

Result: Safer weapons will be purchased. Potential defective weapons will be traded in and removed from County inventory.
