Discussion and possible action to authorize the submission of a Fiscal Year 2015 Local Border Security Program (LBSP-15) grant application to the Texas Department of Homeland Security State Administrative Agency (THSSAA) in the amount estimated at $218,540 for overtime and associated eligible fringe benefits to provide enhanced border security in the Laredo/Webb County area and designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any match.

Background:

The Local Border Security Program FY 2015 (LBSP-15), hereinafter referred to as "LBSP-15" is funded by Senate Bill 1, Article V, Rider 35 of the Texas General Appropriations Act. The Texas Legislature has appropriated funds for overtime and operational costs for increased patrol and investigative capacity for certified peace officers.

Previous Court Action:

This grant has been approved for submission by the Webb County Commissioners' Court on an annual basis.
