Discussion and possible action to approve renewal fees for COPsync, Inc. in the amount of $56,203.20 for 72 users from the Webb County Sheriff’s Office solely for law enforcement use related to COPsync 911 services and connectivity with other law enforcement agencies on COPsync network in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Section 262.024 (Discretionary Exemption) (7)(A) and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. Background:

The COPsync service and related software may be used only by law enforcement officers, administrators and authorized support staff for law enforcement purposes only. Currently 72 users are assigned COPsync access. COPsync provides field officers with immediate access to vital information of suspects, vehicles and alerts from surrounding COPsync users. Further, it provides on-line completion of reports and serves as a GPS mapping system for location of every Officer on COPsync which is also visible to County dispatch.

The Sheriff's Office recommends approval.
