Discussion and possible action to approve a budget amendment to increase expenditure in the amount of $1,000.00 to Account #171-2502-6706 which currently has a balance of $140.00. Available funds from Fund 171 (Federal Forfeiture) are currently $18,669.65.

Issue: With the current balance in the Canine account, we will not be able to continue to maintain the daily needs of the two (2) canines within our department. The fund increase will allow for necessary purchases for dog food and allow for continued maintenance of the narcotic & explosive canine care.

Solution: The increase of funds will allow for the department to meet the demands of the daily needs of the canines.

Result: Secured funding will allow for the department to continue utilizing the canines in operation to assist in law enforcement efforts to ensure the communities safety.
