Discussion and possible action to authorize the payment of the difference in cost from a 2015 to 2016 Model Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit SUV and the upgrade of a two way 800MHZ Antenna & Coax Cable to Holiday Chevrolet DBA Defender Supply (State of Texas Contract: 071-A1-2014-2015) in the amount of $3,603.00. [Requested by Martin Cuellar, Sheriff; Account #170-2001-8801]

Issue: When the procurement process initially started, the vehicle model year quoted was 2015. At the time the order was issued all 2015 models were out of stock and the only models available were 2016. The difference in pay after negotiations with the vendor is $1,748.50 per vehicle. The current price for 2016 models stands at roughly $34,500.00.

Solution: Pay the difference in cost between 2015 and 2016 models, and the upgrade for the antenna

Result: Vehicles can be delivered.

Background:

Item 37 of Commissioners Court Meeting held on May 26, 2015 approved the purchase of two (2) 2015 Chevy Tahoes from Holiday Chevrolet. Since then the dealership has depleted their stock of 2015 models, and can only offer us 2016 models at this time if the difference is paid.
