Discussion and possible action to authorize a one-time waiver of the required annual audit of books and records for the Webb County-City of Laredo Regional Mobility Authority (WC-CL RMA); and any other matters incident thereto.
Issue:
The Webb County-City of Laredo Regional Mobility Authority (WC-CL RMA) is required to provide an annual audit of its books and records conducted by an independent certified public accountant. This new entity, however, has not generated revenues or incurred other financial obligations which would be the underlying subject of the audit.
Solution:
A one-time waiver of this audit requirement may be granted for this year if the county and city officials both agree.
Result:
This waiver will allow the WC-CL RMA to be excepted from the required audit this year.
