Adopt Revised Webb County Government Classification/Step Increase Policy

Discussion and possible action to approve and adopt the revised Webb County Government Classification/Step Increase policies; with possible action to clarify or amend said policy to reflect that all such proposed requests must be authorized by commissioners court; and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by the County Policy Committee]

Issue: Commissioners Court approved a Classification/Step increase policy for Webb County. The current policy needs to be clarified with regards to requests to promote, transfer, or reclassify an employee position within a department.

Solution: A county department who seeks to promote or reclassify a non-civil service position must first seek approval from the court prior to submitting any requested changes to their department slots. County policy needs to reflect this change.

Result: This policy change will help ensure compliance by all departments and avoid unauthorized changes to the current approved county classification/step increase policy.
