Discussion and possible action to apply for a 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Discretionary Grant for Webb County Community Action Agency from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the amount of EIGHTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($84,000.00). This grant does NOT require any County Match. All required documentation has been submitted for review by the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact SPCO procedures. No Impact to the General Fund. [Requested by Community Action Agency]

Issue: El Aguila Rural Transportation is a grant funded agency. Currently our fleet is aging and several buses have a high maintenence and repair cost. There is a high demand for new buses.

Solution: This grant is designated for the purchase of a new bus. Approval of this grant will prvide the agency with the funds needed to purchase a new bus.

Result: Continuation of services throughout the rural areas of Webb County.
