Discussion and possible action to approve the transfer of the following vehicle from the District Attorney’s Office to the 406th District Court and to make the necessary adjustments to the Webb County Inventory report and any other maters incident thereto. Issue: The 406th District Court is in need of a reliable vehicle to handle the transportation needs related to court activities from said Court. Their current vehicle inventory includes two vehicles that have high mileage and are not dependable.

Solution: Approve the transfer of the vehicle to the 406th District Court.

Result: The 406th District Court will have a dependable vehicle for their transportation needs.

Background:

The chief administrative bailiff to the 406th District Court is responsible for an array of law enforcement functions that require dependable transportation. Transportation activities handled by the chief administrative bailiff include but are not limited to the following: coordination of court activities, serving capias, supervising security issues at the treatment center, and transporting members of the 406th District Court, including the Hon. Judge Oscar J. Hale Jr., for Court related functions. The current vehicle inventory list for the 406th District Court includes two vehicles that have high mileage and not dependable for long-range travel. The vehicle being transferred will replace one of the units therefore no additional financial impact to the General Fund.
