Subject:

Discussion and possible action to approve an agreement by and between the State of Texas and Webb County for Webb County Constable Pct. 1, for the receipt and use of excess property for law enforcement purposes, from the U.S. Department of Defense pursuant to Section 1033 of the National Defense Authorization Act. This has no impact to the budget and authorizing the County Judge to sign and execute all relevant documents.

Issue: There is a pending agreement between the Constable Pct. 1 and the State of Texas which would aid the department in the acquisition of additional equipment for law enforcement purposes.

Solution: The approval of the agreement will allow for the Constable Pct. 1 to acquire surplus and excess property from the State of Texas, at no cost to the County.

Result: Enhanced law enforcement services for the precinct and Webb County, as a whole.
