Self-Help the release of the 10% retainage

Discussion and possible action to authorize the release of the 10% retainage payment to AA Builders for the reconstruction projects located at 101 W. Maria Elena in colonia Pueblo Nuevo ($5,528.65) and 262 Los Altos in colonia Los Altos ($4,619.79) HWY 359, under the Self-Help Center Reconstruction Program. To be paid from grant funds, Account #508-2311.

Issue: Two old dilapidated units were demolished and disposed at the local landfill at no cost to the County. The two mobile homes were replaced with new mobile units under the Self-Help Center Reconstruction Program Grant #712003.

Solution: The release of the 10% retainage payment to AA Builders for the reconstruction projects located at 101 W. Maria Elena and in Colonia Pueblo Nuevo in the amount ($5,528.65) and 262 Los Altos in Colonia Los Altos ($4,619.79) Hwy 359 under the Self-Help Center Reconstruction Program.

Result: The Commissioners Court approved Bid Award to AA Builders on December 08, 2014 in the amount of $46,247.90 (101 Maria Elena) and $55,336.42 (262 Los Altos).

Background:

These are two mobile home replacement projects under the Self-Help Center Reconstruction Program, Grant # 712003. The existing mobile homes were replaced with new mobile home units and the old dilapidated units were demolished and disposed of at the local landfill at no cost to the County. Final inspections for these homes were conducted on 1/05/2015.

Previous Court Action:

Commissioner's Court approved the Bid Award to AA Builders on December 8, 2014 in the amount of $46,247.90 (101 Maria Elena) and $55,336.42. (262 Los Altos).
