| Discussion and possible action to authorize county staff, including County Attorney’s office and Engineer to meet with City of Laredo officials in an effort to initiate legal proceedings necessary to approve the temporary or permanent closure of Wormser Road between Ejido Avenue and Avenue Mexico; and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: Wormser Road between Ejido Avenue and Avenue Mexico is a section of a county road that is seldom used by the public and has been an area where consistent instances of illegal dumping, including hazardous materials, have been occurring.
Solution: It is in the best interest of the community for the county to temporarily or permanently close this section of road to control and avoid these environmental concerns from endangering the public health of the community.
Result: Limit liabilities to Webb County from these illegal dumping activities and protect the public health.
