Interlocal Agreement between Webb County and Mirando City

Subject:
Discussion and possible action to authorize the County Attorney's Office to develop an Interlocal Agreement between Webb County and Mirando City Water Supply Corporation (MCWSC) for the construction of a Water Storage Standpipe Tank in Mirando City, Texas, to be paid from a Texas Community Development Block Grant from Texas Department of Agriculture awarded to the County in the amount of $500,000 for this purpose. Webb County will assist MCWSC by administering the funding for this project and will provide oversight necessary to ensure that the available funds are used for this specific project. [Requested by Juan Vargas, Economic Development Department Executive Director]
 
Issue: An Interlocal Agreement is necessary in order to outline project responsibilities for both parties.
 
Solution: Develop and execute an Interlocal Agreement to accomplish a clear understanding of project responsibilities for both parties.
 
Result: A full understanding of each party's role and responsibilities during the implementation of this grant.
Background:
Texas Community Development Block Grant received from the Texas Department of Agriculture in the amount of $500,000 for water improvements-Mirando City Standpipe Water Storage Tank project for Mirando City Texas.
Previous Court Action:
At the February 13, 2017 Commissioners Court Meeting, Court will review and take action to accept the Texas Community Development Contract # 7216115 in the amount of $500,000.
