Discussion and possible action to authorize a Resolution expressing opposition to Senate Bill 2 in the Texas Legislature and its efforts to limit local control and any attempts to impose additional revenue caps upon Texas counties; and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by Legislative Affairs Committee]

Issue: Senate Bill 2 proposes to approve revenue caps for Texas counties which would diminish local control and tie the hands of county officials and limit their ability to provide essential services to address the needs and emergencies of their citizens.

Solution: Oppose the passage of Senate Bill 2 and its efforts to impose revenue caps upon Texas counties.

Result: Allow Texas Counties to control their own property tax system.
