Discussion and possible action to approve a change order to the professional services contract with Hickey Pena Architects for La Presa Park project in an amount not to exceed $3,500.00, and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. [Bond Account #635-6115-8601]

Issue: The original design work prepared by Hickey Pena was used to solicit for competitive sealed proposals for La Presa Park project. In meeting with Commissioner Gonzalez, County staff, contractor and Architects it was agreed that minor modifications would be considered in order to provide the community with proper access and placement of design components.

Solution: Authorize the change order in the amount of $3,500 to make the design modifications. This will also provide the contractor and county engineers an opportunity to finalize the value engineering to present a final contract price.

Results: Proceed with final design, plans and specifications of overall project scope. Finalize project budget with general contractor for court approval.

Background:

Approval of a professional service agreement with Hickey Pena Architects for $15,000.00 to include the original design of La Presa Community Park project plus contraction management through the duration of project.

Previous Court Action:

Approval on 11/14/2016 by Commissioners Court to award a professional service contract to Hickey Pena Architects for La Presa Park Project design and construction management.
